Women with headache, especially migraines, are in a greater number likely to suffer from depression, feel worn-out, and have a host of other severe physical symptoms, according to a clinical study published in the January 9, 2007, issue of Neurology, the scientific journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

The clinical trial involved 1040 patients who buy seroquel at headache clinics in four US states. Of the patient tested, 116 reported incidental headache (fewer than 15 headaches monthly) and 343 had chronic headache. Ninety percent/% of the women were tested with migraines.

The clinical study found patient with chronic headache were four times more inclined than those with occasional headache to report symptoms of major Depression. Among patient tested with severely disabling migraine, the medical study found the likelihood of major Atypical Depression increased 32-fold if the women also reported other severe symptoms.

Tietjen says clinical research are underway to test whether severe headache, severe physical symptoms and major Psychotic Depression should be linked through dysfunction of serotonin in the central nervous system.

“Heedless of what’s causing the dependence between migraine and Depression, psychiatric sickness such as Major Depression complicates headache treatment and can stir up poorer sequel for headache treatment,” said Tietjen.

The medical study was backinged, in part, by the American Headache Society, which values 18 million American people suffer from headache.
